When Will Cambridge Programs Be Implemented?

Colegio La Colina will begin implementing Cambridge curricula startong August 2024 with the beginning of the academic year for Transition, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3, covering four Cambridge subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives/Social Studies).

The Cambridge International Education curriculum focuses on developing essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving from an early age, preparing students to face academic and personal challenges in the future.

-Preparation for the Future: Following a globally recognized international curriculum, students at Colegio La Colina are better prepared to access educational and professional opportunities in a globalized environment, giving them a competitive edge as they advance in their education and career.

How Do We Implement the Examination Battery?

English level certification allows us to monitor student progress. It is also a valuable tool for transfers between national and international schools, serving as evidence of the level achieved by students. For us as an institution, international exams are part of the guidelines established within the bilingual program and help set performance bands to analyze the impact of the curriculum. It is also crucial to remember that these certifications are internationally valid, not only for studying in other schools but also as proof of English levels when applying to national or foreign universities, and for accessing better job opportunities in the future.

Our students take two preparatory mock tests to familiarize themselves with the format, timing, and structure of the final exam. The final phase involves assessments in all four skills, conducted individually by Cambridge Assessment certified evaluators.

The two preparatory mock tests and the exams in the four skills by level are as follows:

  • Movers: Grade 2
  • Ket: Grade 5
  • B1 Preliminary: Grade 7
  • B2 First: Grade 9
  • IELTs: Grade 11
